Sunset, ocean air and 40 members and partners at Esperanza Cocina in Manhattan Beach. A beautiful place brought us to the table. The connections kept us there.

There are some evenings that remind you exactly what G1 is all about.
On Thursday, 24 September, 40 Global One members and spouses/partners gathered at Esperanza Cocina in Manhattan Beach for a Dine Around hosted by longtime board member Gerry Morton and new G1 member Lori Rovner.
The setting was hard to beat: a beautiful rooftop at sunset, the smell of the ocean in the air, cocktails flowing, and an hour to mix and mingle before a huge family-style dinner. (And some truly memorable churros and fried ice cream.)
Beyond small talk
But the best part of the night was the connection. Our Smaller World cards helped move conversations beyond small talk and into something deeper, creating a warmth and energy that carried through the evening. Many newer members were experiencing their first G1 event, alongside longtime members and many of our board.
As Gerry put it, “Bringing this group together is just magical.”
Family-style dinner, and conversations that went well beyond small talk.
From membership to belonging
New member Lori is already embracing that spirit, sharing her own G1 journey and jumping in to help launch a new Forum. It’s exactly how membership starts to become belonging.
One attendee summed it up perfectly:
“The rooftop was so lovely, the food amazing, and the company the best part.”
